Green & Bisque Clayhouse

Welcome to the Clayhouse. Where clay & community have a home.

Pasadena, California

Classes, memberships, workshops, and a thriving community of makers — in one of Southern California's most respected ceramics studios.

We're more than a pottery studio. We're a creative institution that has shaped Pasadena's ceramic arts for over twenty years.

Learn

Taught and run by the best.

Our team is unique: formally educated artists in their own right, many with degrees in art and ceramics, some in grad school, and many already holding MFAs. They're professional, hardworking, and deeply invested in your progress. Staff who genuinely care.

Make

Professional facilities.

58 wheels across indoor and outdoor working areas; five electric kilns, two Geil gas, and two raku kilns; an extruder and slab roller; Cone 10 and mid-range firing — with 50 Cone 10, 30 mid-range, and 15 raku glazes. We fire on a strict, reliable schedule, so your work never waits.

Belong

A community that lasts.

People come to learn and stay for a lifetime — through first pots, gallery shows, the friendships made along the way, and two flagship events a year: our Holiday Market and Summer Night Market.

Our Place in Pasadena

The first ceramics studio in Pasadena, and one of the oldest in Los Angeles.

Est. 2003 Pasadena, California
We didn't just inherit a name.
We inherited a legacy.

History alone doesn't make a studio great. But it does represent decades of accumulated knowledge, refinement, and trust within the ceramics community — things that can't be replicated overnight.

Our facilities, firing capabilities, educational depth, and the experience of our instructors all come from decades of investment and care.

And we've spent every year since building on it.
